There you go--think of them as pets! Really, it isn't so bad--and we don't use the net.

We'll be there later--around the 18th for 5 nights. Too bad we'll miss you! I arrived there on July 6 last year and the weather was wonderful. It rained every night, but only once during the day--the morning I left. I had been there the March before when it had been extremely hot. July felt very pleasant. Enjoy!

I think July is a great time to go too; we were there last year for the 4th of July - no rain, and we felt so lucky.

Yes, the mosquito netting keeps everything away - you'll do great!

shillmac and volcanogirl,

We were a little unsure about the weather in July, glad to hear rain wasn't a problem.

I'm busy now making a shopping list, I've gotten geat advice on the proper shoes to bring from this site and TA. What a tremendous help these forums are.

Thanks so much for all the great advice and feedback.

Great shots in that album Tully.

We spent a week in the Congo cabin a year ago and loved it.

I don't think you can go wrong with any cabina there (except maybe the garden ones since they require a longer walk in the dark at night).

Pictures from our trip including the cabina can be found here:

BDC is a special place.

@EDH_Traveler - you have some great photos. My favorite was the taunting baby capuchin.
