CR: Amy I Being A Pain re Bosque del Cabo? Please advise.
Hi Everyone,
Our guide books came from Amazon. Thank you for the recommendations. I will let you know what we think. I also received confirmation from BdC of our payment in full (tully, shillmac.... can't remember who does this -sounded like a good idea). In my email to Karen from BdC I mentioned that we were booked in the Deluxe Cabina Tucan. She responded Tucan is booked. Yours is Palma.
We reserved in December and went back and forth with Leonardo about cabins and settled on Tucan... Now then, am I being a pain? I know... they are all great....
but, what do yo think, should I press the issue? Will it even get me anywhere?
I am not really high maintenence. Once we are on our way, I can go with things as they arrive... so I know everything will be great.
Just thought I would get your two cents!
CJ

Maybe others do too but I know I like to pay in full, kind of a relief just to have a huge chunk paid for and out of the way. I don't know about the cabins, maybe you could respond to Karen and just mention you were told by Leo you would have Tucan and could they double-check? Then again, good things come from mix-ups: I was to be in Lapa last time but a miscommunication about a deck chair ended up with me in Congo and I absolutely loved it. It wouldn't hurt to ask either way.

Well, that's strange, but I think whichever cabin you get, you will have a great time. Honestly, I think that's part of the reason they don't post information/pictures of each individual cabin on their website - I think they view them all as equally great and don't want people getting attached to a certain cabin. I think you'll be fine either way.

I mentioned I paid ours in full too. I know at first it may seem like a disappointment not to get the cabin you thought you were getting, but you will be happy with Palma I'm sure. You just can't go wrong! You could send a quick note, but I wouldn't press the issue or let it bother you once it's settled.
Have a great time!

sorry for the hijack but I just remembered I had a question for you agswimmer. You mentioned the night of the rain you had to go find someone in the dark and finally did. Silly question but how/where? I've thought of that a couple times when I've looked back at the bar/restaurant area totally in the dark, after I hear everyone leave. I just wondered how if an emergency came up so late at night where you would go.

tully--I went down that short hallway behind the reception area and found someone there. Although, I do have to say it wasn't THAT late when I got there. It was probably only 10:00pm but because it was raining the bar closed early and all the lights were off.

tully and ag -- I had that very same thought...what to do in the case of emergency? I think I will ask that question next time there. I figure I could run screaming through the cabinas and SOMEONE would surely help, but there must be a better way!

Thanks for the perspective everyone. I emailed Karen that we thought we were in Tucan and could she check. A few days later Jose (haven't been in contact with him before) emailed to say we were confirmed in Tucan for all the nights. So I am not sure what transpired. It will be interesting to see where we end up when we arrive. 10 weeks until we depart and our kids passports arrived. Yahoo!

oops forgot, I see agswimmer, I thought it was really late but glad to see I'm not the only one that has thought about it. I know one night in the middle of a fierce storm I had heard everyone leave and couldn't sleep. It was around midnight and other than the lightening it was just so inky dark. Hopefully it's something we all never need to know!
I still have my 'ear-splitting oh no it's peccaries' whistle, guess I could blow on that til someone came & smacked me upside the head to shut up
