booking tours from home

Our family of 5 if traveling to Costa Rica during the busy Easter season. Does anyone know if we should book our tours from home on the internet, or wait until we get there?
The tours we are planning are: Cano Negro and Canopy Tour at Monteverde. I've also read you need to reserve at Tabacon Hot Springs---is this something we would do from home or just the night before we plan to go?
Can anyone recommend a good fishing trip from Playa Carillo?

Hi,
If you book them in advance with copy in hand, it might be best because there are so many tourist here now. I definately think you should book Tabacon, now. You may not receive a rapid answer. Tabacon will want upfront payment. Easter is mostly busy at the beaches. But, many tourist are here then, too.

Sorry, I don't know the fishing people in Carillo. Beautiful beach though!

Do not book a day pass for Tabacon Hot Springs with Arenal.net. They have no relation to the Tabacon Hot Springs.

Thanks. Tabacon is very expensive, especially since we are a family of 5. Is it worth it or are some of the other, less expensive ones almost as good? If it is great, I don't mind spending the money as we're not going all that way to cheap out and not see things. What do you think?

We spent two rainy evenings soaking at the Baldi Hot Springs. It is $18US pp but we went to the Tampa Bay Tours office in La Fortuna and they sell vouchers for $9US pp we are a family of 4 and had been to Tabacon on a previous trip and felt that Baldi was a nicer spot but Tabacon is a must see for a first timer. Also you could do as some Tico's do, have a picnic along the river just past the hot springs.
