We are three families ranging in age from 2 to 65, looking for an upscale AI in Puerta Vallarta. Any recommendations?

I honestly can't say I have heard of any upsacale AI in P.V. I have never been. I don't know where you will be staying. I think the Marriott has a food plan or they might have an AI available, I also heard that the Premier does too. Check it out, I must say that with all the restaurants avail at every location I prefer to eat out, I understand that you have some little ones so that might be a problem, but upscale is hard to find in P.V. Check out the Marriott I stayed there and the food is very good there and I think it is one of the best hotels in P.V. It is located at the Marina and with the little ones you would be able to walk around and stroll in the evening. Good Luck.

Grand Velas in Nueva Vallarta is supposed to be fantastic. I haven't stayed at this AI but have heard great reviews. It is a definite step up from the usual AI resorts.

Most of the "upscale" AI resorts are going to be in Nuevo Vallarta, which is quite a distance from Puerta Vallarta.
