We have stayed in #8 twice because it was set back from the beach the futhurest but closest to the pool & restaurant. The last time though they had cut a lot of shrubs & it seemed more open. The lower the number you go the further from the restaurant..which is not far in any case. #7 had less privacy. I'd say #5 or 6. And it depends on your meaning of seclusion. Private? Absolutely. Naked sun bathing private? no probably better in Plam Tree or Forest but the beachfront has the views. Romantic outside at night private? Possible but we have some funny stories about the racoons & coatimundi that wander by! Could scare you to death until you know they are there! Enjoy, you will love Tamarindo. Did you get a luxuryLink package on it?

PeggyE, thank you for you reply. I've been reading your past posts and would like to thank you for all your comments, they've been very helpful in our decision and I am very grateful. I knew you would reply!! Thanks!
Anyway, regarding your question, I guess I meant more private, not secluded and def. no naked sun bathing, lol. We were just a bit concerned w/ some of the reviews that mentioned the lack of privacy w/ the beachfront villas but are willing to sacrafice that for the view. We don't want total isolation, just a bit romatic honeymoon privacy w/out distractions of others to take a way from a peaceful relaxation vacation or to erase our illusion that we're alone on an island. = )
I've been lookin at L.Link everyday for good deals, thanks for mentioning it. Is it possible to request a room through L.Link? We're getting married April 8 2006, should we wait until we get a bit closer to then in able to get a better deal or do you think I can lose or specific room request?

The beachfronts are definiately private, they are set way back from the beach/sand by a wide grass area probably 30 yards or so. No one is walking by your bungalow closer than that. We got both our packages on LuxuryLink for a beachfront villa. We requested #8 for our second trip and got our request. Personally I would feel a bit claustrophobic in the Forest Villas with no water view. We even saw & kayaked with dolphins in the cove at the hotel! Keep checking LuxuryLink, it is a big savings and 5 nights is just enough. We are going back to El Careyes in October, her sister hotel which we also enjoy. LuxuryLink usually switches between the two hotels for auction. If you have any questions I will try to answer them!

Yes that is probably to far out. Keep checking & don't forget to look under Exclusives where they have Tamarindo now. Though it says "4 nights in a Forest Villa", at the bottom it says "room category and/or lengths of stays may be available". Keep that option in mind & of course differentworld.com has packages too.

I agree with everything PeggyE has said re El Tamarindo, but having not stayed in a waterfront villa, I can assure you the Forest Villas, for example, are wonderful, private, few people walk by and lots of jungle noises...

I stayed at El Tamerindo last August in #3 (Peggy helped me too!)I requested #1 or #2 and got #3. The massage hut is directly in front of #3 so my husband and I spent or days watching people getting massages. So try and get #1 or #2. You picked the perfect place for a honeymoon! I loved it!

I know this message was a posted a few months back, but I thought I would chime in for people who may search this.
We had #2 for our honeymoon and it was perfect. #1 is the furthest one away, but closest to the sportsclub area. We liked 2 b/c the only people walking in front of us would be the people in 1 or the guys working with the boats or the occasional person going to get a massage.
And I will say that at night it was quite private and secluded...
