I received my pin on Friday, hole in the envelope taped shut, pin unscathed inside. I feel for the marketing person who thought to mail them this way! In retrospect it was a really bad idea, but this is how we learn.... Hopefully they will reissue the lost pins--the cost to replace them is probably less than the lost goodwill.

Yes!!! I GOT MY PIN! Or rather I got my husband's pin. I ordered mine only minutes after the sign-up form was displayed on the site, and several days later husband decided to request one. Mine hasn't appeared yet, but he doesn't have a prayer of ever getting this one off my lapel.

The envelope had a hole in it that had been taped over by the PO, I guess. It was stamped "Received in Damaged Condition." Thank you, US Postal Service!

Beware! The back thingie does not hold the pin on. Mine promptly fell off into the bathroom sink. I found another back in my jewelry case which seems to do the job.

I'm the whiner from the SF Bay area who has been agonizing since this thread started several days go. I am thrilled. Thank you so so much, Fodors. I will no longer have to camp out on the curb watching for the postman.

See you in Italy in October wearing my FODORS.COM PIN!

Thanks for finding this "ancient" thread. I forget about those pins...Mine disappeared somewhere between Munich and Heidelberg back in Summer of 2003. I had it on my baseball cap one day and it was gone the next night. Rather fitting that I lost it overseas, eh?

INTERESTING! The dates on the thread from 2001, way before registration, yet the nicknames are clickable, and some continue posting!
And I never got the pin, only the orange folding bag and a tour book - both at the last SF GTG in 2007.
