Which of the Balearics?

Would anyone have a preference as to which of the Balearics would be the best for a few days of winding down during a roughly month-long journey to Spain? No discos or clubbing, just a spot for a little relaxation and a little sightseeing. (Hope that's not too vague a request.) Looking for a shove in the right direction. Thanks to all who reply!
Hi Jennifer,

I have been to Mallorca and loved it but I would definately not stay in the South part of the island if you want relaxation as this is where the clubs are. We stayed on the Eastern part of the island and rented a car for several and drove all over the island, beautiful uncrowded beaches (as long as you avoid the South), wonderful hill towns and beautiful scenery. Get a good guidebook to help you out but try to see towns of Valldemosa, Deia, and Soller. The island is much bigger than I had imagined! Menorca is a smaller island and very quiet with mainly beaches for your activities, not quite as many sights so we liked the variety of Mallorca. Definately stay away from Ibiza as it has a reputation for a wild party island and I don't think the beaches are as nice. Hope this helps!

Christi

Hi Jennifer

I would suggest Mallorca as well but as Christi said stay away from the resorts in the south of the island. The North West is beautiful but the capital Palma is also worth a visit and a much underated city! Menorca has some very good beaches and quiet resorts, like fornells as Maggie suggested, but an over abundance of families with small children - if that's a problem for you!
