Which is the most beautiful country to visit from Prague?

Hi,

I'm currently planning my trip to Prague and one more country. I had already booked a ticket to Prague ages ago, on hearning Prague is a beautiful place. I'm flying from London to Prague on 30th Aug (Thu) afternoon, so I'll have half-day that day.

My plan is to stay in Prague for 2.5 days and then to travel one more place. I'd have another 3 days to complete this trip (be back to London on 4-Sep night). So I'm unable to decide which can be the most fascinating place to visit.. there are so many countries surrounding Czech republic and I havent been to any of them; however I've the option of selecting only one more.

Plz suggest!!

Thanks a lot in advance
Deb

I'm confused by your post. Prague is a city, not a country. Why wouldn't you spend your entire 5.5 days in the Czech Republic? You don't have much time to run around to different places and get back to London.

How are you getting to your other country? Flying, taking the train, driving?

If you don't want to stay in the Czech Rep then I would suggest Austria. At least it's next to the CR so you can maximize your limited time.

Dresden is another possibility.

although I agree with Adrienne; why not see more of the Czech Republic?

There are other great places in Czech. Chesky Krumlov was a great place to visit.

Otherwise Austria is beautiful too.

I would agree - Austria is a fabulous place to see, especially if beautiful scenery is what you're after. When are you going? Have fun

I would stay in CR, but if you must travel then train to Vienna and fly home from there.

What do you mean by beautiful? Are you lookng for cities with art and architecture. Natural beauty as in lakes and alps?

Your time is very limited. I would see as much s you cna where you are - not go looking for random different countries.

2.5 days is not a lot of time in Prague. It is a beautiful and interesting city that could certainly fill your entire trip. But, if you must see another city in a different country, I would choose Vienna.

Most beautiful? Italy! You can get nonstop flights for under $100. The flight will be about 90 minutes, whereas the train to Vienna is just under 5 hours. You can then get a cheap flight to London from there. (Check out fares at www.skyscanner.net - - put Prague in the 'from' box and put 'everywhere' in the to box - - for date, you can select the date you want to travel or select a display that shows fares for the entire month; then click on Italy and choose one of multiple wonderful places).

I think any country has beautiful locations and not so beautiful, so just pick the place you want to go that is most convenient, that's what I'd do. Wouldn't it depend on how you can easily get back to London? If you really want to see another country, I guess you do have Germany or Austria to pick from.

When we visited the CR beside Prague we visited Kutna Hora, just outside of Prague as well as Telc and Cesky Krumlov. There is alot to see there and Prague is only one city. Terizen was another place we visited. You really don't have a lot of time to spend in CR. Slovakia was also a nice place especially up in the mountains in the north.

Thanks all for ur replies.. I chose to stay 2.5 days in Prague coz i read in all the forums that 2.5 days is enough to see the beautiful Prague.. but i guess u guys disagree.. So finally i decided to stay in Prague for one more day and then fly to Paris to celebrate my birthday in the disneyland..

I was on the lookout for the best place to be on my birthday and i guess i found it I just got back from Paris today and got to know that Disneyland is offering a free entry on your birthday this year to celebrate their anniversary.

@dfourh: I'll be goin to Italy in June for 10 days

After reading all the replies, I'm getting quite interested in Vienna and probably would fly there soon
