Which day of the week is it cheaper to fly?

My husband, my sister and I are travelling to England this coming (2004) May and June. I was just wondering if any of you have any advice on what are the cheapest days to fly on? I have heard Wednesdays, but I just wanted to check with all you experts and make sure. Thanks for any help!

I have generally found the cheapest prices on Tues, Wed and Thurs. Sometimes leaving home on a Monday also.

You can go to www.britishairways.com and enter your departure and arrival cities and your dates, and they will show you the costs for flights for seven days before and after the dates you entered, and let you choose whichever combinations of flights that are cheapest and/or most convenient for you. Pretty slick. Looks like Monday through Wednesday are generally the most economical travel days.

I always check the big three - Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia frequently over a period of time. Sometimes a great deal will mysteriously pop up and then just as mysteriously disappear. If you check often, you'll be able to spot a great deal and pounce on it without hesitation.

The cheapest days to travel to and from Europe are Monday through Thursday. I usually fly home from a trip on a Monday morning and save a bundle on my ticket.

Our daughter is a flight attendant so we fly standby and need to find the days that are least crowded. She advises that these are usually Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
