Where to store luggage in Zurich
My husband and I are traveling to Zurich/Italy in March for our 5th Anniverary.
We will arrive in Zurich around 10a.m. the same day we plan to take the over night train to Rome.

Are there lockers in the airport or at the train station where we can store our luggage?

If those are not available any ideas? Can we store them at a hotel for a fee?

Thanks,

Expat living in Mexico

I am not sure about the airport, but there are lots of luggage lockers at the main trainstation in Zurich. THey are on the floor below the trains, with elevator or escalator access. They cost 5 SFR. The problem with them is that they are very small. We could not fit in our large size suitcase. If you are carrying medium size cases you should be OK.
The lockers at the train station are of different sizes. Look for the largest ones, if needed. Your suitcase should fit in there. As far as I remember, they now cost more than CHF 5. Maybe CHF 8. Make sure, you have the necessary coins ready (5, 2, 1).

expat04, Having the right change is defintely a good idea as Ursula points out however there is also at least one change machine near the lockers but sometimes those things don't work all that well! If the one by the lockers is playing up, the pay toilets near by (McCleans) have change machines also.

There is an attended left luggage area in the Zurich airport - if memory serves, it's about $5-7 per 24 hours. There are also coin operated luggage lockers in the main train station - these are cheaper than left luggage at the airport, but I think they're limited to 24 hours.
