Where to meet at Florence train station?

My husband and I will be driving into Florence to meet my sister who arrives by train from the Cinque Terre. Any advice for a good meeting spot? I am a little worried that parking will be a problem. We are planning on departing Florence after the reunion. Thank you.

My suggestion would be to meet at the end of track 16. I believe that is the farthest track to the right hand side of the station if you are facing the trains. There is an information booth near there, as well. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

For that matter, there's a McDonald's IN the train station, so why not there?

Parking is no problem - there is a large car park underneath the station, just follow the signs.

The traffic around the station, however, is another story. Hope you're not getting there in the rush hour!

The cafeteria in the Florence train station was excellent 4 - 5 years ago. It's in the center of the station. You might consider meeting there.

Lots of good tips here. Pick any one and go with it. Just to put your mind at ease, it's not a big station. And it's not at all intimidating.

I was just going to respond the same way Grasshopper did. The train station really wasn't very large at all. Even if you met in the station itself, I would think you could spot someone pretty easily.
