Florence accomodations near train station

Hi,
I'm hoping I can get advice from other travellers about places to stay near the Florence train station that are cheap, can accomodate four women, and fairly nice.

Any help?
Thanks!

why are you limiting your self to the vicinity of the train station.

You can get a cab nearly anywhere in Florence for about 10Euro (or about 2.50Euro ea), or walk or take a bus for less to many areas further away from train station.

Hi L,

I can highly recommend the www.bedinflorence.it

It offers clean, comfortable basic accomodations less than 10 min from the train station on a well-lighted, safe street in a residential neighborhood.

AC is provided at a small charge. See my trip report for more details.

We got a good rate at the hotel straight across the road from the S M Novella -I can't remember the name, but think it might have the same name as the station. Good location for the train and bus stations.

And if that doesn't work out for you, try Hotel Porta Faenza-the owners are ex-pat Canadians, speak excellent English and the atmosphere is charming, the street quiet at that end. And, for my money, it is a fine area.
