Cigalechanta, I think the spelling of your favorite is Henri Bardouin, often referred to simply as HB. There are numerous variations, such as Absente. Absente (which is more green than yellow and is sometimes called "the green fairy" ) is often served in an interesting fashion...with a sugar cube in a spoon heated with a flame that lets the slowly melting sugar drip into the drink.
Many French and Belgians like to have a shot of pastis with their morning coffee. The handyman for our apartment likes to put the shot straight into his coffee; my husband likes it on the side (mixed with water). The best pastis we ever had was homemade by a friend in Antwerp who's a conductor on the Belgian railroads. Smooooth.

that's right I did mispell my favorite HB. You also use the sugar cube with the slotted spoon that came with my absenthe(no wormwood) My parents were born in Italy and my father put anisette in his coffee.
