The traditional saying is that March comes in like a lion (windy and fierce) and out like a lamb (beginnings of Spring), but it's never wholly predictable. If you live here, what you really notice is the clocks going forward and it still being daylight by the time you get home from work.

we went in late march and while it was rainy, it was never really cold. The rain didn`t really stop us from doing anything, and it certainly didn`t rain every day. One day we did get caught in a downpour, and we were just drenched, walking around Hyde park. So go, and just take a good raincoat.

you can check highs, lows, average temps and rainfal on www.worldclimate.com. We were there this past April and it was cool (50s during the day) and rainy.

It won't be THAT hot, THAT cold, THAT dry or THAT wet. Yet you could well get a variety of all 4 but that's just the UK around springtime for you.
We don't get much extreme weather, not at any time but certainly not in spring.
Whether you think it's hot, rainy or whatever will depend very much on what you are used to.
