Weather in May in Switzerland?
Hello everyone....
I am visiting the interlaken area (and around) in May and as wondering about the clothing I should be carrying. How cold will it be? or is it usually pleasant? I was just wondering if I should carry a thick down jacket? It'll take WAY too much space
I do plan to go to jungfrau region as well.
Hope to get an answer soon. Thank you!

We were in the area in early May of last year. It was cold (40s or less in higher elevations), rainy and foggy. I understand it warmed up considerably later in the month.

I was in Interlaken in ealy to mid May, for a few days 6 years ago. I am picturing the clothes i was wearing in some pictures, i usually had my windbreaker jacket on & either light long pants, but also sometimes i was in shorts.
I think it got quite warm at times during the day & in the town, however when we took the train to the top of the mountains, naturally, it was colder. but you should be fine with light layers, no need for a down jacket, as i recall.

15 day forecasts can be found here:

I was there several years ago in mid-May, the weather was perfect. Shorts and sweatshirts in Interlaken, obviously a little colder in the mountains but not bad.
