Clothing reuired to be worn in Switzerland
What kind of clothing is required in Switzerland now-a-days? In Jungfraujoch, MSN Weather is showing the temperature in the range of 13 and 8 degrees with evening/night temperature as -1 degrees (feel like -6 degrees). But in other cities like Geneva, Lausanne, Bern, Interlaken and Lucerne, it is in the range of 14-22 degrees.
Do we need woolen clothes?

Going to Jungfrau, keep in mind it's high up and snow if you go outside (or course you will ) - if for a short time, just sweater and windbreaker and back in for a cup of hot chocolate!
I would not dress for real winter, only layers for summer/spring weather.

Essentials to have are a thin wind-and rainproof jacket with hood and one warm sweater, preferably fleece. Wool is heavy and takes ages to dry - definitely not recommended for travel. Otherwise pack clothes that can be combined and worn in layers if necessary for flexibility.

The Jungfrau is very high, is covered in snow all year and will be cold inside and out. This has nothing to do with the weather in the rest of Switzerland.
Take normal summer clothing to Switzerland plus one sweater or light jacket and waterproof walking shoes. When ascending one of the mountains you add layers as it gets colder (tee short covered by long-sleeve shirt, plus sweater plus jacket) - and that will keep you warm enough for the few hours you spend at the top. Do not attempt to ascend in shorts, tee and sandals - or your blue shaking body will be put on the train back down to the valley.

Actually, when we went to the Jungfrau in September we were pleasantly surprised at just how warm it was at the top. Sunny and clear. We had long sleeves with jackets on for the train ride up but when we hiked outside to the restaurant we peeled our jackets off and my husband was down to just a t-shirt (and pants of course). So you never know. You have to be prepared for pretty much any kind of weather up there.
