During 1995 I worked in Naples and I started to get very sick. I tried to cut out various food items and it determined to be the Mozzarella cheese.

I have used this cheese many other times~including Naple's best.

I stopped my problem as soon as I stopped using the Mozzarella. No more Salad Capri~tomatoes, mozzarella slices etc..

I was in the Campania area in the last month (not Naples proper) and had loads of mozzarella and was not sick.

Usual cheap supermarket and pizza mozzarella is made from cow milk only nowadays.

According to the paper, only buffalo milk is affected which should narrow down the problem to the Mozzarella di Bufalo Campana D.O.P -- which is hardly cheap enough that restaurants would toss it in their salads without boasting about it.
