My friend and i are arriving to vienna on june 4th and planning to drive the next day with another friend (who is from vienna) to prague . We need to be back in vienna on the 6th to drop off our friend who needs to work on the 7th.

Then off again to see the Swiss alps and be back to Vienna on the 11th to explore the place til we leave for the US on the 13th.

We like the laid back types of fun. Fairs, markets, vineyards, coffees, cheese, wine.

What route/stops do you recommend in these trips. We will be renting a car and practically live/sleep in the car.

june 5-6 prague
june 7 vienna
june 8-10 swiss alps
june 11-12 vienna
june 13 depart vienna for the US

You do realize you'll only have one real day in Switzerland? Definitely not enough.

Skip it and explore Austria more.

Agree with schuler. If you are looking for mountains, Austria has some beautiful mountainous regions. Check out the Salzkammergut or even the Bavaria Alps (Berchtesgaden region). Much closer than Switzerland!

Too far---stay closer to home--look at the Wolfgangsee and St. Gilgen. The drive is about 9 hours each way to Interlaken--that will kill 2 days.

I agree most certainly, stay in Austria.
