Suggestions: Vienna, Linz, Prague

Hi
Would love to hear your opinions of this plan (part of a larger European travel)...
We arrive in Vienna on the morning of 11 Sept and need to fly out of Prague the morn 16 Sept so basically we have 5 days. We were thinking of travelling via train from Vienna to Linz to Cesky Krumlov to Prague. What do you think should be the breakdown of time in each spot? We are early 30s, laid back just wanting to see the sights. We aren't interested in the music side of things so I'm wondering if Vienna would be wasted on us?
What would you suggest we see on this trip and how should we travel (is bus better on some legs?) Any help appreciated!

Just commenting on Vienna - even if you don't like classical music, it's still a beautiful city to visit. If you like art musuems, you can easily spend a week there. But even if not, it's still worth a few days.

I may be biased since I am originally from Vienna, but it would be very easy to spend your whole 5 days there, even without being interested in music. I'd skip Linz and just split the time between Vienna and Prague.

Tip: Vienna has a fantastic public transportation system. Subway, Trams and Busses go everywhere and an all day ticket that allows you to hop on and off for 24 hours is very reasonable. If I remember right about 5 Euro.

Visit the Upper Belvedere, beautiful gallery (Klimt, etc) and georgeous view over downtown.

Definitely skip Linz. Its an industrial city with not much to offer for tourists. We drove through it on the way from Salzburg to Cesky Krumlov and were not very impressed.

Also wanted to mention that I'm in my 20's and not really into classical music too much either and I loved Vienna. Its a beautiful city with much to offer. I definitely suggest a visit.

Spend your time in Vienna, with a day trip to the Wachau valley and the Melk monastery.

Things to see in Vienna:

The Upper Belvedere for 1900 art, although some of the most famous Klimts are now in the States.

The Leopold Collection for Austrian art from 1900 to 1945.

The treasury.

The Hundertwasser building and nearby museum for a post W.W.II Gaudiesque experience.

Going to a Heurige in Grinzing.
