Yes the Culinarium is both; I've walked past it a few times and peered in, but never put a foot inside. A must for this next visit (less than two weeks away!). Also the Schwartz Kamel, where I've had drinks but never eaten. The Kamel gets a cool, modern crowd.
Since Steirereck is still in the old location, not sure whether I'll go--the last meal I had there was certainly good but didn't measure up to all the hype. I don't particularly like the decor, at least not in the conservatory area (where we sat), which was too futzy for my taste. The wine cellar is very impressive, but Í already had a poke around there. Maybe I'll wait til next year and try it again in the new location.

Hi BTilke, I do hope you will report your findings after your return home. If you discover any restaurants you have not previously visited would also like you to let me know. I am sorry you were disappointed in the Steierecke . I was really looking forward to it. Is the Black Camel not more of a bar or am I mixing it up with some other place? I also need information on something other than restaurants. While in Vienna thought I would visit the Semmering for a day. Is this a good idea?Anybody been there and if so how difficult is it to do this by train

The Black Camel is a bar (where people seem to be drinking cocktails instead of beer or wine), but you can eat there as well. Always busy with Viennese yuppies...but also pretty smoke-filled, which may keep me away.
