Vienna Hotels

I've done a search of the forum with few results, so does anyone have recommendations for a hotel centrally located in Vienna? I will be traveling with my sister, we are used to smaller European hotels, so we don't need US sized rooms. We are looking, hopefully, to spend not more than $250 per night. Are we being realistic?

You should also check guide books for hotel recommendations.

We will be making our 3rd stay at the Hotel Admiral in September. It is located behind the Museum Quarter off Mariahilferstrasse about a 5 minute walk to the Ringstrasse, UBahn and tram. Reasonable rates (90 - 130 Euro for a double), clean and well located for shopping, restaurants and sightseeing.

we have favored Pension Pertschy..good central location on a short and narrow street connecting the Imperial Palace with an easy walk to Imoperial Palace, St. Stephens, Opera House, etc. Various branches of our large family have happily used this establishment.

Pension Suzanne, just a block from the State Opera. they have twin rooms if you prefer 2 twin beds instead of one double.

we stayed at "pension suzanne" several years ago. the location was absolutely perfect for us. literally across the street from the opera house and sacher cafe. right at the tip of the big pedestrian stroll. walk to anywhere, or take the tram. they have apartments with little kitchens, too.

i checked their website and the prices still seem really good. what i remember is:
location, location, location
really clean
pretty quiet for such a central location
the hallways were a little weird-- like a dorm or something-- i had been turned off when we first got there because of the halls, but ended up really loving it.
