Verona - recommendation for pension / hotel
My husband is located near Innsbruck on business and will have a weekend to travel in Italy. Venice seems a little far, but Verona seems quite reasonable. Any recommendations for hotels or sites?
Thank you

Not sure what you are looking for in terms of hotel - if you are looking for cheap and functional I'd recommend a place we stayed 18 months years ago, the Hotel Mastino. It's a reasonably priced 3 star.
We stayed in the modern part of the hotel which is across the road and down a quiet side street. It is functional, has all the amenities you would want and the location is fantastic, right beside the arena.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for a one or two night stay in Verona. If I was staying longer personally I would want somewhere more luxurious and with a swimming pool. We were there for 1 night only and the Mastino was perfect.

Also have a look at www.hoteltorcolo.it. We stayed there recently and were very happy with it. Right near the main piazza and the Arena. We were not driving so I don't know about the parking situation.Good luck!

I like Hotel Colomba d'Oro which is steps away from the famous Arena where you can see an opera in the outdoor. Good reasonable room prices but often sold out.
Another hotel that we've stayed at is Leon d'Oro which is just outside the city wall toward the train station. We liked their suites and you can check out the different suites in the Boscolo hotel chain website. II don't think their standard rooms are worth it, but their suites are a steal. We only stayed there because all the hotels inside the wall were sold out (there aren't too many to begin with). The whole city of Verona is like a museum, just go there and enjoy.

Hello katina, I was going to post the hotel I have always liked but DAX did. The Hotel Columba D'Oro is in a wonderful location, right at the Piazza Bra.
If you are interested in a wonderful meal at an old historical restaurant that is walking distant from the above mentioned hotel here is their website for your review.
