BigPaw & I_am_Kane,
After your comments, the Casa Rezonnico is #2 with a bullet on my list of Venice hotels (after La Calcina). Do many of its rooms have views of the Grand Canal or a side canal? That water view is really important to me.
Thanks,
Linda

BowenLinda,
There are two quad rooms on the first floor of the Casa Rezzonico: One faces the canal in the front and the other one faces the garden.
The double room on the third floor has a window that faces the garden below, and the window actually opens up wide. You have no visual access to the front of the hotel where the canal is from the third floor because that space is taken up by the staircase.
BTW someone is always on duty at the front desk. The latest we got in was 12:30 a.m., the door was locked, but the front desk clerk let us in very quickly.
At the time we were there, it was very quiet on the Fondamenta Gheradini, and it is a quick 4-5 minute walk to Campo Santa Margherita.
