Traveling north Tuscany in Oct/Nov -- too late for good weather?

Planning a trip to northern Tuscany for the last two weeks of October into the first week of November. I'm reading that it can be rainy at that time of year with temps in the 60s. Would appreciate input from those who have traveled that area during that timeframe. Have been to Italy other months of the year, but usually in spring. Thanks. Diane

Hi Diane, we did late Oct. one trip and it was mostly good except for a quick cold snap when it got down to 45 one nite. We did not have rain, but it is common that time of year.
Good luck !

The weather could be beautiful and warm or cold and windy, impossible to predict so far out. In either event be prepared for some rain.

Between late October and early November the weather can be extraordinarily beautiful. We call it 'Estate di San Martino' (Indian summer) and Italians have a very touching legend to explain this phenomenon. I agree with tarquin it's hard to predict it now.

We usually travel in the last two weeks of October and have traveled throughout much of northern Italy at that time. In all of our trips over many years, I can count the number of days with rain that affected our plans on one hand.
