Travel-sized Lysol spray (28 g)

Silly question, but I'm curious if anyone has succesfully taken it in their carry-on ziplock bag for liquids? (28 grams is about 1 oz)

If they don't allow it, they just pitch it, is that right? Or should I not even bother to try?

I haven't seen a trial size of Lysol, but if you want it for a disinfectant, you can buy individually-wrapped wipes. If you want it for deodorizing, do as I do and take some of the sample perfume sprays that are given away at the cosmetic counter.

Are you talking about aerosol spray or pump spray?

We usually buy a country's brand of spray after we arrive.

I think sprays are allowed, but it may depend on the country/airport.

I would try. If not allowed, they will take it away, that's all.

Thanks guys.

it's a tiny aerosol can, "Fresh Linen" scent, picked one up at walmart, thought it might be handy in any iffy public washrooms

I'll give a go, see what happens.

On a trip from USA to London I brought an aerosol can of Pam cooking spray (they don't sell it here and I really like it - I live in London now). Anyway - not only did they take the spray, but they totally unpacked the entire suitcase which I had lots of food items and liquids that were individually wrapped in ziplock bags. Took everything out of the ziplocks opened boxes, etc. I have never had that happen before, even in bags that are opened. Later I got a letter in the mail and it seems that I am on some sort of list for travelling with banned substances (the aerosol can). I wouldn't get my hopes up that you are going to go through with the can. . .

Is it flammable or nonflammable? I've taken a small can of nonflammable aerosol in a ziploc bag through US and EU security. I don't believe it would be allowed if flammable.

If you're going to find a can or bottle or whatever of something small, you will probably find it at

www.minimus.biz

Check it out as they have pretty good selection.

You could also transfer the Lysol to a small pump spray bottle. But, the wipes seem more convenient.

Hi AL,

The TSA site says:

"Aerosol spray bottles and cans - Yes - 3 oz. or smaller container"

Wel, I'm over in England now, and I had no problem with the Lysol spray. Security was actually very quick and easy at Pearson (Toronto), as was immigration at Heathrow.
