Travel Packages for Italy

This is me and my friends first trip to Italy and wanted to plan for at least 10 days. We would like to have an escorted tour or we would like to plan a trip from Milan, Florence and Rome. Does anyone know of any reputable travel agents or websites where we can plan our trip? I am based out of Atlanta, GA, USA.

Most of the people on this board are independent travelers, but if you list a price range, I'm sure you will get some suggestions. Here's a few to start.

Trafalgar Tours
Cosmos and Globus Tours
Insight Vacations
gate1travel.com
go-today.com

If you are young and want a party tour - www.contiki.com

Interesting to see this post at the top just as I came here to look for similar info on Italy. Does anyone put together packages that include airfare and hotels but without the escorted tour part?

April - Yes - both Gate1 and gotoday have air/hotel or air/hotel/train packages. You can select the quality of hotel you want. Make sure you check it is in a desirable location as the cheaper hotels are usually not as close to the tourist areas.

Hi M and A,

It is so easy to put together your own tour if Italy, especially if all you want is airfarem hotels and travel between cities, that a tour isn't really necessary.

See Helpful Information: Italy 2

Train schedules, prices and tickets are at www.trenitalia.com

Airfares are at www.mobissimo.com and www.kayak.com

Hotels at www.venere.com.

GRAMMAR POLICE ALERT:
This is MY FRIENDS' AND MY first trip to Italy.

OR

This is our first trip to Italy.

Sorry to butt in on your thread, mocha9661. We actually want to include a visit to Paris on the trip. We're at very early stages of planning - just came up with the idea this week! I like what I've seen on the Go-today website, but will have to research favourite districts to stay in for Rome, Florence, etc. Thanks for the links to get started.

Cosmos and Globus has a Monograms tour that is guided one day and then the rest of the time you are on your own. The hotels were all 3-4 star. I was impressed but we decided to brave it out and plan our own.

Good luck!
