Thoughts on any of these Santorini accommodations?

Hi all. I know there are a lot of hotels/villas/apts written here, but that's just the problem. There are too many that look nice on the Internet so the decision is tough!

My wife and I will be in Santorini for a few nights starting Sept 23rd. We orignally were thinking Oia, but now feel something more centrally located would be better so we are looking at Imerovigli, Firostefani and Fira.

Our top amenity would be wanting to have a nice caldera view room with a private terrace/balcony/veranda from our room overlooking the Aegean, valcanos and across to Thirassia. Secondly would be a place in/within walking distance to Fira or at least a place where it is easy to catch a bus/taxi to Fira and then on to other locations (beaches, Akrotiri ruins, etc). Third would probably be a decent pool on the property. Given the types of things we are looking for and location, perhaps it will be difficult if not impossible, but we'd like to stay at a place at or under 200 EUR/night. There are, of course, other desired amenities, but those are the top ones.

Here are the place we were looking at. In Imerovigli: Artemis Villas, Chromata, On The Rocks, and Rocabella

In Firostefani (only have one so far so would love to hear about more): Sun Rocks

In Fira: Loucas, Mina Villa, and Tzekos Villas

Any comments about experiences in these places would be great or suggestions of other places that follow along with the items we are looking for.

Thanks!

-Mike
Hey Mike,
We just booked our stay at the Zoe-Aegeas in Oia last week. Granted, I have no first hand knowledge of this place as this is our first trip to Greece, but their property looks fantastic!!! We cldn't be more excited, and I've been corresponding w/ Yannis Diacakis at the property and he's been wonderfully helpful. Check out their site ---> http://www.zoe-aegeas.gr/?greekislands.com

Not that you need more options , but another site that's helped us out tons is ---> http://www.greekhotel.com/cyclades/s...n/oia/home.htm

My brother-in-law swears by Perivolas; maybe that's why he stays there every year.
Check out the site at http://www.perivolas.gr/

Mike, I just got back from a wonderful trip to Santorini

My Greek friends' advised me to say in Imerovigli, and I didn't regret it..Central between Oia and Fira. Most importantly, right on the Caldera, where you will enjoy an unobstructed and breathtaking view of the sunset...and sunrise, actually...I SO highly recommend it. I stayed at Iliovasilema Apartments..and Chromata was a few feet away....Stay in Imerovigli///in my opinion

Oh God, don't stay at Rocabella! Ick. We unfortunately spent one night there then moved to Oia the next. The room was tiny, dark and blah and the bathroom was so tiny you could barely sit on the toilet as there was no place for your knees! Our balcony was right next to the ones next door so there was no privacy. There was a view of the caldera, but only after you looked over a trashy construction area directly outside the balcony. The whole development looked more like an apartment complex than a hotel. The staff we dealt with was very rude. The breakfast was pitiful and the tiny breakfast area was outside enclosed by sheets of hanging plastic so it was very hot and very unattractive. And, the location sucks. It's on the far side of Imerovigli towards Oia and not close enough to either to easily walk. It seemed like it was out in the middle of nowhere. We really didn't like this hotel!
