Things to do in Nafplion

We are stopping there in late september with a cruise and was wondering if it is easy to get a local taxi to take you to Venetian Palamidi Fortress as I do not think I could climb the 999 stairs can any one give advice

"... easy to get a local taxi ..." ?
Yes, it is.

I'm sure there will be many taxis parked wherever you disembark. Offhand, I don't know where your ship will dock. If you were departing from the Venetian "old Town" itself, Palamidi is perhaps 5-7 mile drive, and I'd guess 1-way taxi fare would be under 15 Euro (others may have more up-to-date info).

It would be a shame to not spend 2-3 days in Nafplio, however.

IMNSHO, one of the prettiest and nicest seaside town in all of Greece. Nafplio's "old town" could easily occupy a day & night of sightseeing, plus all the other nearby attractions: Tiryns, Mycenae, Epidauros, and more.

We enjoyed the seaside walk as well as the other sites suggested by tom_h. Its lovely and easy and you can take it quite a long way round the point.
