I took my two little girls (ages 7 and 4 at the time) to Rome over Thanksgiving 2001. We were very lucky with the weather, sunny and in the low 70s in the day and in the 50s at night. Dress in layers and be prepared for rain however. The only restaurant I know of that does an American type Thanksgiving meal is the Hilton, but it is very expensive. We didn't even bother with finding the traditional turkey dinner but just ate a wonderful meal at Buca di Ripetta, near Piazza del Popolo. We returned to Rome this past April and there are some suggestions of children's activities, restuarants and geleterie in my trip report "Rome with Kids" that I'll top for you.

Oh I am so jealous! My daughter and I went to Italy last Thanksgiving and were in Rome on Thanksgiving Day. I never once considered finding Turkey, I promise neither will you.
You can type in Trip Report Mother Daughter in the search field and Italy in the country and bring up my trip report if you would like.
Have a fantastic trip!!!

Like Howard, this reminds me of a Thanksgiving I spent in Venice in 1997. It was a chilly rainy day, but wonderful...aren't all days in Venice? I don't have any recollection of what we had for dinner, but we did spend an unforgettable Thanksgiving evening attending a Vivaldi concert in a beautiful old church along the canal...sorry, don't know which church, but it was a magical experience.
