Taxi, FCO to central Rome

Can fellow travelers please advise the approximate cost for a taxi for the two of us from Rome Fumicino Airport to Rome city center? Thanks.

I have used Rome Cabs for my past 3 trips to Rome(in the last 2 years) and they charge 45Euro for 2 people. I book them in advance and they are there waiting for me. I don't have the exact website with me now, but if you google them the website will come up. The owner is Stephano and he is very prompt with replying to booking requests.

I do believe if you pick up a taxi directly at the airport it is also 45Euro, but it must be a city taxi, I understand if the taxi is not a city taxi they can charge you more then 45Euro, I've heard someone say they were quoted 60Euro by a taxi driver and declined, found a city taxi and paid 45Euro.

Taxis are a set fee for FCO to Rome of 40E for 4 people including luggage. You must make sure you have an official taxi registered in Rome. The taxis registered in the city of Fiumicino can charge 60E.

We also used Rome cabs booked in advance on their web site. They were waiting for us outside arrivals with a sign with our name.It was well worth the 5 euro extra to make sure we were in the correct type of transportation. They are reliable and will keep track of your flight. The drivers all speak English.I believe the web site is www.romecabs.com

The link works,I just checked it.There has been a lot of positive feedback on Fodors and Tripadvisor regarding Rome Cabs.I've not read anything negative.

My husband and I used Rome Shuttle Limousine this past Monday to go from Rome to FCO for 35 euro. The driver was excellent; on time to pick us up, personable, and spoke very good English. I would highly recommend them. [email protected]

I think Rome Shuttle Limousine adds 5€ for FCO to Rome.
