Suggest a place for dinner in Killarney

My June itinerary around Ireland lands me in Killarney and I'm looking for a suggestion of a good quality moderately priced, place to eat dinner there. Someone suggested Gaby's but I read in another posting that Gaby's is in Galway. I'm confused. Can someone clarify for me please. A suggestion of a good pub in Killarney would also be much appreciated. Many thanks

The Cooperage restarant on Old Market Lane is supposed to be lovely (although I've never eaten there myself). It won "Atmospheric Restaurant of the Year" 2001 in the Georgina Campbell Jameson Guide and also gets a mention in Le Routier "Best in Ireland" restaurants. It's also mid-price range.

Gaby's Seafood Restaurant is also in Killarney (27 High Street).

I like to have dinner in the Brasserie Restaurant in Hotel Europe around 7pm in the summer. The hotel is about three miles west of Killarney on the road to Killorglin. Most of the tables look out towards the mountains across the Lower Lake and you can enjoy good food while you watch the sun going down on one of the most famous beauty spots in Ireland.

Not sure where to suggest - the hotel's usually have good faire. I can suggest where not to go as I was very disappointed - if Cronin's is still there SKIP IT!

One restaraunt I found that I came away very satisfied with while there was the 'Ricin'. It is on New street in the centre of Killarney. Not fussy - food or atmosphere, very reasonable, friendly staff and generous portions. Good wine list too!!
