I haven't been to Trujillo--anyone? Try a google search or enter Trujillo here at Fodors.
If you haven't been to Alhambra, it's incredible, especially if you can see it at night with a full moon. I also liked Cordoba, Ronda, and the white villages, especially Vejer de la Frontera.
We're going back in Spring--this time probably concentrating on Castile this time.
Check out various guidebooks and try these websites--okspain.org, tourspain.es, spainalive.com, red200.com, spainlist.com and I'm sure you'll get a wealth of information.

Nerja has a great beach, and some very extensive hiking trails into the mountains, so you could hike in the AM, then drive for a few minutes back to your hotel on the beach. Check out the hotel Parisio del Mar, a beautiful small hotel right on the beach.

Go north to San Sebastian, Bilbao, Santander. Fly from Madrid after a few days, then on to San Sebastian, take short comfortable bus trip to Bilbao, Stay in Bilbao for a day or two, then bus again to Santander for great beaches. Back to Madrid and Home. Alternatively, you could stay based in SB and return each day. You may wish to rent a car instead and just travel about the north. It is magnificent.
