Sorrento day at leisure or Amalfi?

I am booked on a 3 day tour with a day at leisure in Sorrento. The tour doesn't go to Amalfi, so am after opinions on weather I should 1) spend the day at leisure in Sorrento or 2) Try and find a day tour that incorporates the Amalfi coast ?

Hi T,

For about 10E, you can take the SITA bus along the Coast road, get off at Positano, continue to Amalfi and return.

You could also take the ferry along the coast to Amalfi and take the SITA bus back.

There is a bus from Amalfi up to Ravello, which is worth a look.

Hello Ira,
Thanks for your reply. Your suggestions sound good!
Can they be carried out in single day?

Tracker - If I were you I'd split the day between Positano and Sorrento.

You could go one way by bus and return by ferry as Ira said to get the best of both worlds.

I probably wouldn't go as far as Amalfi if I were you - you'd end up spending too much time travelling.

Sorrento-Positano by bus costs €1.30
Sorrento-Positano by ferry: approx. € 7

Hope this helps ...

Steve

You have to buy a ticket in advance - and validate on boarding.

Tickets can be bought near the bus capolinea in Sorrento (- at the Circumvesuviana station shop) - or any bar/newsagents displaying the Sita sign.

Check ferry/hydrofoil times for the return. They vary according to the season ...

Hope this helps ...

Hi T,

Yes, you can travel by bus or boat Sorrento/Amalfi and return in one day.

The SITA bus stops at the top of Positano. You can walk down to the beach.

The Orange bus will take you back up.

PS, you buy your tickets onboard for the Orange bus.
