Sorrento area restaurants
Does anyone have a favorite(s) (non piazza) restaurant on the Sorrento penninsula that they would like to recommend? Did a search already and didn't find too many suggestions. Since we will be staying near Colli di Fontanelle, we will have to drive anyway, so if you have a favorite anywhere on the penninsula would appreciate hearing about it.

Hi
In sorrento, all really good:
Laterna Due - middle price
Il Buco- high price
Red Lion- budget restaurant
The best fish restaurant is down in Baia di Puolo - La Tavernetta, you need a car but the seafood is amazing, and the restaurant is on a beach looking out to the bay of Naples, Nello and his family own it and you will not regret going.

There's also a very fancy restaurant, the 2-star Michelin-rated DON ALFSONO which is in San'Agata, between Naples and Sorrento. I haven't been and have heard mixed reviews, but maybe somebody else here on the forum can give you the lowdown.

Our favorite restaurant to dine at when we visit Sorrento is in Massa Lubrense. It is called Ristorante Roberto Francischiello and it is at the Hotel Bellavista. We have been there numerous times and have never been disappointed. It is a family run restaurant with delicious food and a view of Capri. There is another restaurant nearby with the same name, but make sure you look for the one at the Hotel Bellavista.

You are most welcome!
We have put it on our "to do" list for our trip in July. Our son and his girlfriend will be with us and we will take them there for dinner. Our son was with us when we took our mothers there a few years ago and he is looking forward to going back.
I hope you and your sister have a wonderful time! It is a beautiful area of Italy.

SAB:
I checked my Sorrento notes, and it looks like Ristorante la Favorita / "O'Parracchiano," Corso Italia, 71, tel 081-8781321. Hours are 12:00-3:30 & 7:00-11:30. Closed Wednesdays.
Opened in 1890 by an ex-priest. This ristorante is on the main street near the cathedral. The entire premises are a gigantic greenhouse. Classic Sorrentine cuisine menu. Examples: White bean soup, cheese baked in lemon leaves, ravioli Caprese (cheese, plum tomatoes, basil and maybe some oregano), veal cutlet Milanese. The kitchen will make a pizza, if you ask them.
For dessert try their lemon tart: Lemon is king in Sorrento. Dinner costs are about 7 euro - 16 euro.
Also, "Davide" for GELATO, on via P.R. Giuliani. Closed Mondays. They offer over 50 flavors - very creamy.
