Eleonora Consoli gives very good cooking classes in her house, located between Catania and Taormina. The options range from half-day to a week or two.

Hi Cindyann
We were also looking for cooking classes in Sicily. I was interested in the responce you got about the woman who gave cooking classes in her home. There was no address or phone number to contact her. If you have any luck, please get back to me. Hope you have a great holiday. Thanks.

Ter: When I took this class I was on a tour with Italian Connection, a tour company which is based in Canada. Maybe you can get info from them (800-462-7911) re how to contact Eleonora Consoli.`

I just came across the info you wanted among some papers I was sorting from last November's trip.

Here's how to contact Eleonora Consoli:

Cucina del Sole
Via Don Bosco, 12
95029 Viagrande (Catania)

Tel. & Fax 095-7890116
(That's preceded by the country code, which is preceded by the international access code for calls from your country.)

We have enjoyed staying at the Gran Bretagna in Siracusa. It was redone about 2 years ago and went from a 1* to a 3*...opt for the bigger rooms, which are not very much more. The staff were very nice, nice breakfast, and right across the street from the Grand Hotel on the little island (peninsula) of Ortygia.
