Cooking class in Sicily
My wife and I are are looking for a 1/2 to 3/4 day cooking class somewhere in Sicily. Haven't been there before, so have no geographical preference as to where it is - just looking for a relatively small class that would provide a unique opportunity to experience Sicilian food/cooking.
Thanks, Terry.

Terry,
We haven't tried this one, but we know someone who was very happy with the experience. https://lovesicily.com

Our gorgeous hotel, La Foresteria Planeta, in Menfi near Selininte used to offer cooking courses and maybe it is still the case now.

Vagabonda is a legendary Destination Expert on TA will certainly give you the best advice. She made our trip to Sicily a dream that came true.

The Porta Messina ristorante in Taormina (right by the Porta Messina, as its name implies) has a very fun cooking class that lasts half a day. I took it when I was last there in Sept. 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I happened to have dinner there one night and enclosed with the bill was a little flyer about the cooking class so I booked it for the next day right then and there. It was just me and a British couple in the class, which was great. Luca, the instructor who is also a waiter at the restaurant, was great fun and knowledgeable.
We made different types of pasta, learned how to knead bread and use yeast (previously a big mystery to me) and rolled different types of bread (with dough that had already risen, obviously), and we made pizza and each chose our own toppings. We then feasted on our pasta and pizza, along with a wonderful antipasto and cannoli for dessert.
At the beginning of the class they served us caffe, biscotti and strawberries for breakfast. It was a spur of the moment thing for me that really worked out well. We got to keep our aprons and they later emailed us the recipes. I happened to pass by the restaurant the next day when that day's class was leaving and they were all laughing and smiling and talking about how much fun they had.
There are several other classes all over Sicily that offer shopping excursions and cook typically Sicilian foods depending on what's available. Just Google "cooking classes in Sicily" and you should come up with many.
I agree about checking Trip Advisor, especially if you have something specific in mind. Vagabonda is a gem.
