Sicily in April
We are planning 8 days in early April to Sicily and would like help with an itinerary that is food and wine focused. Looking to start from Palermo and leave from Catania (flying from NY). Where to stay? How to make the most of our time? Is it best to move city to city or do day trips? We’d prefer not having to move every 2 days if possible. Thanks!

Sicily is not easily seen with base cities, but where you would stay and for how long really depends on which of Sicily's many gems you hope to see in that time -- and you certainly can not see them all in that time. IME, you'll find deliciously flavorful foods and wonderful wines anywhere on the island. Palermo is one of my favorite cities; for my interests, a stay of 3 or 4 days for that city (including a half day in Monreale) would be quite reasonable. I haven't been to Catania yet; whether it would make most sense to fly out of Catania or loop back to Palermo depends on what you choose to do with your time.

I’m hoping to do a cooking class/wine tastings. Planning to start in Palermo, pick a second city and end in Catania. Would also like to get to Mt. Etna. I’m in the early planning stages so I am trying to gather all the info I can.
Thanks!
Thanks!
