Hi Kelly R,
I too am a European shopaholic. I've been to Italy a few times over the past couple of years and can tell you with all honesty, it was not easy to find a deal on ANY designers in Italy. Sad, but true.
BUT...since you are going to be there in January, that is when many sales start to happen. I would try to do a little research with books like "Born to Shop: Italy" and others to find out which outlets or shoe factories are open at that time and which department stores have big January mark-downs.
It's tough now with the low U.S. dollar and all, but at the very least you can get your international tax refund.
Good luck and let us know how it goes...
