I am very, very sorry to hear about the devistating news from Mimi. My sister had cancer ten years ago, but amazingly, she got over it and it hasn't came back since, which was truely a miracle. I'll be sure to keep her husband, her, and her family in my prayers. May God be with you always and especially during this extremely difficult time.

Mimi and her sweet husband saw the surgeon today. This is her update:
1-he cannot have the surgery until he has healed from the emergency hernia surgery.
2-the doctors did something to give him some relief from some symptoms, he has to have that changed, hopefully, relief will be immediate
3-there will be a surgery and I believe in good surgeons who know what they are doing and that next summer Mimi & Jerry will be planning their Provence trip!
Marianna, she spoke of how much you boosted her spirits

Stay in there Mimi,
My daughter had a lumpectomy a year ago last August, went through both radiation and chemo for several months. This year she ran for County Supervisor and lost by 240 votes out of 24,000 to a two term incumbant. Right now she is on a bicycle and barge trip in the Netherlands.
Positive energy is important. I know it's hard, but stay in there. Prayers are with you.

cigale- as you are in Boston, you are with the best care you can get. I met my ex because his father was being treated at Brigham and Women's (and was cured) and I know quite a few other success stories. And no failures. You are in the right place and I just wish I were still there so I could bring by some food for you and yours to eat. That is what I do when people are sick.

I had a very nice visit with Jerry and Mimi in February and was planning to put a card in the mail to them today. Since Jerry doesn't really "do internet" or Fodor's, I have decided to print this thread and mail to them. I will plan on printing it tonight so if anyone else would like to respond before then.
