running store in paris?

does anyone know of store in paris specializing in running gear for marathons, etc. i am travelling to paris this week and hoping to find a running store for certain running clothes. also trying to find a way to run in the paris half-marathon next sunday and hopefully find someone who had to cancel and i could purchase their spot. i thought a runners store might be my best bet to find someone who might have cancelled.
thanks, michael

One of the best French stores specializing in running gear for marathons is Le Vainqueur at Avenues Des Manche.

Michael:

Before you go there, please check out the name and the address in the Paris telephone book. It would surprise me greatly if the store or the street existed.

Nope, no such street in pagesjaunes or mappy... no such store name, either ("the winner", of course)...

alskar (alias troll raskal) undoubtedly is using the same source for the other stores, streets, and hotels she makes up and posts on various other threads.

By the way alskar means love in Swedish. so it's meaningless to say alskar alone.
I still think you're hot though.

I don't know about a store with gear specifically for running marathons, isn't that a bit specialized? However, I would just try a general good sports gear store. Au Vieux Campeur is a French sports gear chain that is quite large on rue des Ecoles, I imagine they have running clothes and shoes. Their web site mentions this (try "course a pied&quot

The Marathon boutique suggested stopping by on Saturday. If you do that, you can report on your success! "Passion" makes up for a lot of language difficulties, I find.
