Rubens at the Palace Hotel

I was recently considering apartment accommodation for our stay in London however I have changed my mind and decided to look at hotels instead as we will only be in town for 3 nights. I am looking for a hotel in a good location for sightseeing as well as good value for money (something that seems particularly difficult in London), my budget can go up to 200 pounds max.
The 'Rubens at the Palace Hotel' appears to fit my criteria so I am interested in hearing from anyone who has stayed there. Any other suggestions of good hotels are also welcome.

Thanks

There are many hotels in London that are under 200 GBP and are good value. The Rubens fits that bill. We stayed there a few times and its a nice hotel. Just round the corner from Buckingham palace and well located for many tourist attractions.

We've stayed at the Rubens twice and would stay again at the right price. It's around the corner from Victoria Station and St. James Park as well as restaurants, pubs, etc. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful as well.

One of my favorites. I usually rent flats, or sometimes use priceline -- but when I'm booking directly I try for the Rubens at the Palace or the Royal Horse Guards.

I have stayed there on several occasions and would certainly recommend it. Several good reataurants nearby and an excellent location. It's especially convenient if coming or going from Victoria Station which is an easy walk even with luggage.

Friends stayed at the Rubens last month after an exhaustive search, and they were quite happy with it. Sorry I don't know any more details at the moment, but if I can get any more, I'll be back!
