Late March early April weather in Belgium

I have searched the forums but can't find a recent post for weather in March/April for Belgium. A friend and I got an incredible airfare from the states roundtrip to Brussels.

Any information on an itinerary, weather, restaurants etc for March 24 to April 3 will be appreciated. I have been to Brugge but my friend has not. We can stay very reasonably in Brugge, Ghent and Brussels. Also considering a day trip or Paris and a couple of days in Amsterdam as the trains seem to be inexpensive and easy. TIA

Don't mind the weather. In Belgium, all seasons are unpredictable. Some years we had about 20°C at noon in early April, but then we were lucky. The average for March is 10°C. March could be rainy.

Would you mind sharing your airfare deal? I'm looking to go about that same time and any tips on cheap fares would be great.

Thank you for the information on the weather. I guess I will pack in layers.
As far as the airfare deal, I got it on aa.com. It was so random, 3 hrs later it had doubled. You may want to check daily as it may show up again. I paid $420 including all taxes, etc from San Antonio,TX. I saw it 3 hrs later for $800 plus tax. Good luck. If I see it again I will try to post to you.

I went to Brugge in March and we hit a lucky stretch of great weather. It wasn't super warm but mostly sunny. We were able to bike to some tulips and had a great time. Enjoy! I remember snagging a similar airfare from SFO back in 2002. You scored a great deal!

Andi, where did you stay in Brugge? Where did you get the bikes? Thanks for the info!

Hi Andrea K (funny, my name is Andria Kathryn), anyway - I can't remember the name of the place where we stayed. I recall it was nothing special. I think the bike place was a random choice too. Sorry I can't remember!

In July 2011 we're staying at a Farmhouse outside or Brugge for a full week - http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-ren...0?uni_id=70171
The farmhouse has a bunch of bikes. We're traveling with our two young daughters next summer which will be quite a change from my 2002 trip with my best friend!

Hi Andrea, it's impossible to predict. Even when you have averages for that time of year, it could be much colder or much warmer. It's probable going to be pleasant enough for sightseeing, and it will probably rain at some stage. Go for it if you can get a good airfare.

No one could predict the current spell of cold weather and snow; it snowed again last night in Belgium. Very unusual, we'll have a white Christmas.

Thanks AndiM and Tulips. We are coming because we got that incredible airfare! I have been to Paris a couple of times in March and it was warm and very cold during the same week. I guess Belgium is going to be pretty much the same.

We are staying at Lut and Setola's Bed and Breakfast in Brugge. It is very nice and very reasonable. We stayed there in 2005 and we loved it. It is close to the center. I will have to ask Lut about the bikes.
