I did wind up staying at the Porta Antica apartment I referenced above.

We had apt 1 and LOVED it. It had a wonderful view of the port and it was very nice.

They were CLUELESS about where to park and we had come in to town the "wrong" way, but once I found the parking lot the place was great. No real service (the office was only open 10 -1, but they did wait on me to arrive around 5)

I would stay there again! (Heck we extended our stay one night we liked it so much)

To Carole A.....Porta Antica looks good to us, but our adult daughter will be with us. Do they have more than one room or apartment in the same building? Thanks.

We spent 5 great days in Rovinj last Sept. The town was full, so beware of not getting a room reservation, especially traveling w/ your mother. We stayed at the Casa Garzotto which is an old house converted into apartments. It's in the old town (cobblestone streets), about an easy walking block or two from the waterfront. There is no parking anywhere close to the waterfront, so you will likely have to psrk away and shuttle. The hotel can arrange this.We loved the family and the apartment.

Waterlily,
Just saw this again.

There were at least three apts in the building. #1 had a small bedroom with a "double" bed (it looked small to me) and a sleeper sofa. I slept on the sofa and it was fine.

As I said, limited service but the location was wonderful.

One drawaback that might bother some was that there was a nightclub right next door so with the windcw open you got some noise, it never bothered me and my nother was on the back and didn't hear a thing!

(I want to go back )

I just got back from Croatia and stayed at an apartment at Porta Antica. It was a very large space with a separate bedroom, it had a view of the harbor. They were flexible with us. We didn't arrive until 10:30pm at night and a representative met us in a parking lot and brought us to our apartment and helped us settle in. Great place.
