Innsbruck Hotels

Going to be in Innsbruck for 2 night. We are thinking about hotel Weisses Kreuz, the staff seems very friendly. Price is around 100E.
Do you have any other choices? We are staying at a 4 star in Bolzano so we don't mind being economical for this one. Just something in city center and cute!!!Please advise..Much Thanks!!

We had reservations for family group of 10 at Gasthof Engl, which was recommended by All Mountain travel agency, which specializes in ski trips. It's supposed to be clean, friendly, inexpensive, and with a restaurant so good that locals go there to eat. Short story is that trip fell thru, so I have no firsthand knowledge of the place. We've used All Mountain 2 times before and therefore trust their judgment.
Not very helpful info, but at least another bit of input.

I stayed at the Schwarzer Adler last June and it was just fabulous! Large room with v. luxurious bathroom and a small balcony looking over a monastery and the mountains. I booked it via lodging.com for 96E per night though that didn't include breakfast. The staff were really nice. It's just a couple of minutes along the street from the old town.
Oh, and it had air-conditioning which was wonderful as Europe was just beginning to heat up for that extraordinarily hot summer!

I just returned from Innsbruck this past weekend. We stayed at the Hotel Innsbruck. It was very nice. The rooms were smallish but I really didn't spend a lot of time there except for sleeping. The beds are verrry comfortable! It is right around the corner from most of the main sights in the old town. I can't tell you what the rate is because I was part of a group rental. Their website is www.hotelinnsbruck.com. They are worth checking into.

We stayed at the Weisses Kreuz in September. It is quite nice, see if you can get room 403. That is the largest or ask for a superior room. The location is excellent for shops and eating.

I have stayed at the Weisses Kreutz for a total of three weeks and loved it. And you are right, the staff are very nice and well informed about what to do, where to go etc. The receptionists all speak excellent english. The breakfasts are an occasion to be remembered. You won't get anymore cute than this choice.

linbab - Why Room 403? Is on the front or the rear? We've seen mixed web reviews on the noise levels. What else can you tell me about the rooms?

Kathy - If you are still around, I'd love your further comments as well.
