If you do a search above you will find many threads on this issue with specific recos.

Separately, what do you mean by "reasonable" ? I know what I mean by reasonable - I would think anything under $350 or so - but don;t know what you mean.

Costs will also depend on the time of year.

We stayed in a quad at Hotel Flora and would not hesitate to stay there again. It was 1 large room with 1 1/2 bathrooms.

We stayed in a lovely quad at the Hotel Canal and Walter ( funny name, nice hotel) for 150 euro in summer of 2002. It's probably gone up a bit as that was 4 years ago, but that gives you an idea. It's on the grand canal near the train station. Most people prefer to be closer to San Marco (and in fact I do too) but it was still pretty convenient and a nice enough area.

I stayed at the Pensione Accademia in November of 2003 with my wife and two teenage daughters (Dorsoduro 1058, 30123 Venezia tel ++39 041 5210188 fax ++39 041 5239152).

We requested a quad room but what we got was a 2 bedroom 1 bath suite on the ground floor just off the lobby. The main bedroom was very large with a queen size bed, large wardrobe, dresser, and sitting area. The second bedroom was very small with two twin beds, small closet, a dresser and very little unoccupied floor space. Both rooms were beautifully appointed and the set up worked great for us.

The hotel is on the grand canal only a short walk from St. Mark's. The staff is knowlegable and helpful with directions, recommendations, and reservations. I can't remember what we paid, but would highly recomend this hotel if it fits within your budget.

Enjoy your trip!

I'm afraid the rates have gone up more than a bit. Rates for the Canal and Walter for next March for a triple - they don;t show any quads - are for more than 500 euros.

But since we don;t know if you're going it's hard to be specific.

Many times a quad is actually a triple with an extra bed. Quads are tough to come by, and usally aren't even listed on the hotel's website, but if you email the hotel, they may have something.

You might want to look at apartments. We are going to Venice in 2007 also (3 adults and 2 teenagers) and found that an apartment was less expensive than hotel rooms for all of us.

We stayed at Hotel Galleria a few years ago with our 2 teenagers in a quad room over looking the grand canal. The hotel is modest and the location is ideal- right by the Accademie Bridge and valporetto stop.
