Rome Sweet Rome

We are planning a trip to Rome with 5 adult family members. Has anyone booked an apartment through romesweethome.com? We have located them through Venere.com and are looking for verification that they are reliable. We are also open to other suggestions for accomodations.

Good evening, Eileen2
Just got back from Rome last Tuesday and ha the pleasure ot staying at the
HOTEL PIAZZA DI SPAGNA, via Mario de Fiori, 61. se www.hoteldispagna.it..
It is a small hotel with 3 stars located a block from the bottom of the
Spanish Steps and across the street from a wonderful reasonable, Ristorante 34, resvn a must and can be
made by the hotel desk clerk. We have
been making reservations by determining what hotel we wished to stay, then e mailing the hotel to see if they have rooms available at that time and their rates. Then request reservations and request their fax
number. After receiving this information should fax them your credit card number for the deposit and request a confirmation... We have been doing this for many years and not working thru an agency.....

eileen,

There are plenty of great apartments for rent in Rome. Location is the key. You can book this one directly with the owner and cut out the 3rd party.

Try this one: http://www.palazzo-olivia.it/inglese...zzo_index.html

I have not been able to contact romesweethome.com for the last week either, but many of their accomodations are available through venere.

Hi Eileen2,

I stayed at Palazzo Olivia last week with my family of 5. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. The apartments are very nice and clean and the staff very helpful. It is also in a great location, 1 block from Piazza Navona. The staff called cabs and limos for us which helped out a lot. We only had 1 problem when they thought we chipped a sink. My suggestion to that for you would be tomake sure you do a thorough walk-through upon arrival.
Have fun. If you need any other info, let me know. We had a wonderful private tour guide for 2 days that I could recommend to you. Have fun!

Thank you all for your comments. We were not successful with rome sweet rome, but found a wonderful little place near the coloseum through romeby.com. It was the Ceasar House Hotel - really more a sophisticated bed and breakfast. The owner and staff were extremely helpful. The rooms were newly renovated & clean, clean, clean!

Hi Eileen2
Are you referring to the place that has the following web site http://caesar.hotelnetservice.com/Park,Residence.htm. I was reviewing it as well and it looks quite reasonable. Were you able to reach many places of interest on foot or did you find that you needed to take a lot of public transporation?

Thanks for your input.

sorry sanped - I have not looked in on this site for awhile - the Caesar Hotel is different than Caesar House. I accessed the Caesar House through www.romeby.com
