Rome: Limo pickup time from hotel to FCO

My British Airways flight departs Rome at 8:15 am for London, connecting with American Airlines flight to DFW on Sunday, 17 May. I'll be staying at a hotel by the Pantheon. I'm booking with Rome Shuttle Limousine. They said to allow 35 minutes for the ride. Not knowing what time the airport check-in with BA will begin in the morning, what time should I arrange for pickup. For example, if I allow 2 hours at the airport, I should be there at 6:15am and have pickup for 5:45am. Agree? Disagree? (based on your own experiences - your thoughts? Thanks!

We used the same service last August and they recommended a time to us - they don't have a suggestion for you? 2 hrs is probably conservative for FCO.

I'd ask for a 6am pickup.

Two hours are ample for a flight within Europe, and at that hour of the morning it's more likely to take 20 minutes than 35 minutes.

Dorkforcemom,

I'm taking this exact flight combination. What time did you get your transfer for? We are also thinking of using this company. Were they prompt?

Thanks,

Shandra

I just did this last week. We had a flight out of FCO at 11:20AM, but it was to Wash. DC, therefore an international flight. Rome Shuttle Limo service picked us up at 8:00AM, we were right next door to the Piazza Navona. We arrived in plenty of time.

I think I might ask for 5:45. That would give us 2 hours at the airport before the flight assuming the taxi ride at that time would be about 30 min.

I would also do 5:45 am. Our trip to the airport this past winter was about 45 minutes (pick-up at 6:45 am for a 9:30 am flight to Atlanta) from near the Vatican, and we had time near the gate for a light breakfast. You'll want to get to the actual departure gate about an hour before the flight time because they board early.
