ROME : Hotel Genio or Hotel Adriano? Help.

I have narrowed my hotel choice in Rome to these two hotels. The Genio is about $135 a night and the Adriano is $130. Both rooms are for a standard single. Has anyone stayed at either of these 2 places? I know both locations and like this area. I am also concerned about getting stuck in a dark cramped room for 8 days. Any thoughts? One other option I also haven't ruled out is the Horel Regno which is also at the same price range.

I stayed at the Adriano 2 or 3 years ago, but in a double for single use, and was quite pleased with the hotel. I didn't see any of the single rooms, so can't comment on their size, etc. If you've stayed in single rooms in Europe before, then you know it's a crap shoot as to what you get put into. As for the location, it can't be beat. Unless you want to pay 200 E. more a night to get 2 blocks closer to the Pantheon (not worth it, in my opinion).

I would think that for an 8 night stay, they would tend to treat you well. Good luck with your decision.

We stayed in the Hotel Genio in 2002 and were pleased with it. The location is excellent, just steps from Piazza Navona.

There were five couples in our group, and our rooms varied in size, but were all nicely furnished and decorated.

You might want to request a larger room if you stay there.

We particularly enjoyed the rooftop terrace in the late afternoon.

We stayed at the Adriano 3 years ago.
There were 5 of us , so we had a triple and double.

The hotel staff were very pleasant , the breakfast was good, the rooms were fine, for the price you can't beat it. Location excellent.
We're returning this Nov. and once again staying there.

Have a great trip.

Richard,
Whether you stay at Hotel Genio or not, check out this restaurant. Facing the hotel, go around the corner on the right. "Fiametta" was one of our highlight restaurants. If they have the spinach crepe starter you won't be happy with just one!
