Romantic Rome Hotel near Excelsior

We are meeting another couple in Rome this Sept for 2 days. It is our honeymoon and a birthday trip for them. They are staying at the Excelsior as a freebee but when I checked the rooms that are available they are just out of our budget. Can anyone recommend a very nice, romantic hotel within easy walking distance of the Excelsior for our honeymoon? My only hotel experience in Rome has been the Hilton (ugh--too corporate, no personality). My preferences: I would like something that feels very Italian and a bit luxurious. My fiance: wants the Excelsior!

We stayed at the Regina Baglioni on the Via Veneto for our honeymoon in January 2004. It was beautiful and they not only upgraded us to a suite, they greeted us with champagne and fruit. They might be in your price range. I believe the website is:

http://www.baglionihotels.com/

Congratulations and Happy Honeymooning!

Thanks for your response lilygirl. I'll check out the website now. It's funny how one's life takes unanticipated turns.

How much do you want to spend per night? The Marriott Grand Flora is a block away from the Excelsior and a bit less expensive. Although a Marriott, it is not a corporate cookie cutter hotel and is very charming and comforatable. Also the Barocco in Piazza Barberini which is just down the block from the Excelsior.

Grinisa: I'd like to keep it under $500 USD if possible. But I will follow up on your two suggestions. Thanks.
