They did email me a number in Europe. I don't really feel the need to call them now that we are back in email communication.

We have rented from them before and just did so again this week. We heard from them within a few hours (remeber there is a time zone differencse). If you printed the english contract and direction they are pretty clear about how to book etc. They are running a business and yes Europeans expect accuracy...not to fret though, you will have a grand time, Their apartments are nice.....you will never stay in a hotel again.......

PamSF and CarolA, I hope everything has been sorted out with RentParis. Since we just got back from France and rented apt #7, I'll share my experience with RentParis and I'll rent from them again.

Before I made a reservation, I had e-mailed them with various questions and always got replies back within a day or two. Replies are often short "one-liner" and "to-the-point". I then made my reservation to which they replied right away. I paid my down payment using PayPal and after not hearing from them in 2 days, I e-mailed them asking whether they received it or not. They were a bit annoyed by my pestering and e-mailed back and said I'll get my receipt by the end of the day, which I did, with the cell number to call upon arrival.

A couple weeks before I left, I wanted to find out if they would take the security deposit in US$ cash. I e-mailed them 3 times but they never replied. I got a bit worry about this lack of communication. So I send them an e-mail a week before I left and ask them for the name of the contact person. They did replied the next day saying they have 4 managers in Paris and they don't know which one I'll get. The security deposit question was never answered so I exchanged 300 Euros in US before hand.

We landed CDG 7am and I knew the apt had previous tenants who were checking out that morning. RentParis said we should call ASAP so we did about 8:30am and the manager, Danny, said they had to checkout and cleanup the apt and said he'll meet us between 12:30 - 1pm.

We got to the apt around noon and he and a cleaning person was just finishing up. He collected the rest of the rent but never asked for the security deposit.

The apt was clean and everything was as pictured and described. Danny was nice and easy to deal with. The checkout procedure was "just leave the keys on the counter and close the door". We never saw him on the last day.

I'm not sure who are the people that answer the e-mail for RentParis but they certainly could be a little more "warm and fuzzy". Everything worked out well once we got to Paris and the apt and location is great for the price.

E-mail to [email protected] if you have more concerns.

seafox, which apartment did you rent this time? Our old apartment or another one? I assume you don't mean you were there last week but that you rented it for a future trip.

carcassone, I'm glad your apartment worked out well. What did you think of the neighborhood? Trip report?

I just found this post. We did finally hear back from rentparis.com having finally resorted to fax. I forwarded the deposit(with international bank transfer as paypal required opening yet another credit card account!). From the point of transfer, communication took a few days. We have since spoken with many folks who have rented on Rue Chapon(as we are) and reported it to be a great neighborhood. I'll report back to the European board on our return.
Regarding the vrbo.com..."our" apartment is listed on both rentparis.com and vrbo.com. Fortunately at the same price.
